About
Hi there, my name is Tina & I’m so happy you’re here. I am currently approaching my 50’s, but I went into early menopause starting in my late twenties, though nobody told me that at the time.
Instead, I was handed antidepressants, reassured I was "too young" for anything hormonal to be wrong, and sent on my way. I had to connect the dots myself. I suspect more than a few of you reading this can relate.
I eventually self-diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency, with a significant assist from Dr. Google, and had to beg my doctor for the specific bloodwork to confirm it. I have been through the broken system firsthand. I know what it costs. And I know exactly what needs to change.
I also have three children, whom I was told I could never have, by the way, including two daughters I am fighting for every single day. I refuse to let them jump through the same hoops I did. I refuse to let them sit in a waiting room feeling invisible while someone with a medical degree tells them they are too young, too stressed, or too something for their symptoms to be taken seriously.
That refusal is the engine behind everything I do.
At this stage of my life, my passion has evolved into women's brain health and dementia prevention. The brain fog is real. The dismissals are real. And the need for medicine to take a serious, comprehensive look at women's whole-body health is long overdue.
We are not men. We require different trials, different studies, and a whole-body approach that honors the full complexity of our systems, not a scaled-down version of research that was never designed with us in mind.
That conversation is happening now. I intend to be part of it loudly and for a very long time.
The Credentials Behind the Conviction
I hold a Bachelor’s in Exercise Physiology and a Master’s in Nutrition & Food Science, with multiple certifications in women's hormonal health, and more than 20 years of experience as a health and physical education teacher that has shaped how I communicate, how I teach, and how I meet people exactly where they are.
My work sits at the intersection of midlife wellness, hormonal transitions, and brain health prevention, and it is grounded equally in evidence-based science and the lived experience of someone who had to fight for her own answers. That combination is what The Neuro Nutritionista is built on.
